Holly Memoli

Dr. Holly Memoli is a clinical veterinary behavior resident of the American College of Veterinary Behavior (ACVB) and has extensive experience in clinical case management of pets with behavioral problems. Dr. Memoli recently completed her 3-year residency training at the School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Pennsylvania. She received her veterinary degree from The Royal Dick School of Veterinary Studies, University of Edinburgh, Scotland.

Prior to starting her residency, Dr. Memoli worked in general practice, emergency and shelter medicine. After working at various shelters across NYC, she ended up at the ASPCA-NYC as the Medical Supervisor of the Kitten Nursery and CARE which provides behavioral and medical rehabilitation for NYPD canine victims of cruelty and neglect. While at ASPCA, her passion for clinical behavior developed as she witnessed first hand, dogs suffering from significant psychological distress and the long-term impact it had on their health, both physical and psychological. She understood the dire need for qualified behavior veterinarians, and knew she would be able to have the most impact by helping animals with behavioral concerns, which is the leading cause for relinquishment and euthanasia in the US.

Dr. Memoli’s interests include improving the quality of life of animals and their caregivers by strengthening the human-animal bond and educating people on behavioral rehabilitation. Dr. Memoli believes that many instances of euthanasia for behavior-related issues could have been prevented, had the timely interventional behavior treatment been available to the animals and their caregivers.

Dr. Memoli is Fear Free Certified (elite) and is a member of the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior.

When not at work, she enjoys hiking and spending time with her family of rescues which includes her husband, their pup Charlie and four cats - Bogey, Cane, Luna and Chester, the most recent addition to the family, found wandering “On the streets of Philadelphia”.
